Before you arrive, we prefer to make sure the cupboards which are being vacated are left clean. At move-out, it is expected that premises, including shared spaces, be returned to the state in which they were received.
This includes horizontal surfaces, which should be wiped clean of debris with a dry cloth, and then washed with a wet, soapy cloth and finally wiped once again with a clean, dry cloth. This is what you can expect upon arrival, and how you should expect to leave the space when moving out.
Particles this small are difficult to see in a photo, but if found when a walk-through is performed, indicate that adequate cleaning was not performed. If appropriate, a charge will be deducted from the previous security deposit to return the premises to a move-in ready condition. During tenancy, this is part of keeping spaces clean and ready for the next use.
